The Fact Is There Is No Real Debt Elimination Solution

Thursday Feb 4, 2010

Lots of families have increased their level of indebtedness in the context of the international economic crisis of 2008-2009. Scams proliferate as companies that promise debt elimination take advantage of the financial plight that so many people are now facing. Such fraudulent companies are usually promoted as legitimate businesses with all the legal support required. Yet, without the full repayment of what you owe, there is no real debt elimination.

Real debt elimination can be achieved by consolidating credit card debt or existing loans. For example many people choose to pay their student loans by creating a home equity loan that uses the house as a collateral. This means that you contract a new loan with a more advantageous interest rate so as to pay for the older debt. Occasionally you don’t have to take any more loans to be able to achieve older debt elimination.

You can even borrow money against the retirement plan or the life insurance policy. When you use such savings for debt elimination, you will usually receive penalties according to the contract with the insurer or the retirement plan company. Statistics indicate that the rate of borrowing against the retirement plans has increased considerably over the last 24 months, since lots of people were faced with the horrifying situation of losing their home for failure to pay debt.

You can thoroughly understand your chances for debt elimination if you analyzes your finances, you make an action plan and you act on it. This means that you will have to put down all the details of your budget with the gains and the expenses. In the section of expenses you should create two categories: one for personal bills and another for the legal debts you have, including loans and taxes. After you give a serious thought to your situation, you can decide whether to turn for a professional for help or not.

Then, the main issue with debt elimination is to reduce expenses and preferably the interest rates. Additional monthly repayments could help you reduce debt more efficiently, shortening the life of the loan. Target credit cards first because the interest rates are higher. Depending on how and what you borrowed money for, you may be able to consolidate the loans in a more advantageous form. With firm and steady organization, you should be able to regain control over your finances!

Credit Card Debt Elimination Scam And What You Should Know About It

Thursday Feb 4, 2010

The most common credit card debt elimination scam that you may come across starts with one or more emails that you receive from a debt elimination company. There are many people that face incredibly high debt levels and they sometimes incline to believe anything they are told. Scammers take advantage of their plight and promise to stop their financial agony by making repayment unnecessary without repercussions. Unfortunately that is hardly possible! Be wary of too high promises, because nothing can wipe away debt!

Some people don’t suspect a credit card debt elimination scam because of the legal appearance that the ‘program’ seems to have. A title or a law could make the scam look credible, thus you will often come across: The Fair Debt Collections Practices, Title 15 United States Code section 1692, the Fair Credit Billing  Act and much more. For fees that can climb up to a few thousands dollars, some companies could even send you all sorts of materials to show you that you have the legal right not to pay your debt.

Do not trust the credit card debt elimination scam that hides behind such stories! Be rational and think for a second! Lenders extend the credit limits for their clients on a regular basis, and billions of people use credit cards. If this practice were illegal, law makers or law enforcers would have taken measures by now. ‘There is no free lunch’! Remember this saying whenever you think that complete elimination of your debt is possible without your actually paying it!

In order to stay realistic and be wary of a credit card debt elimination scam I suggest the following self-analysis. What did you do with the money? Are you enjoying a better sofa, some artwork or different possessions? Have you made some home investments? The only way to cover debt is to pay it, and it is your fault if you have overextended the credit. What grounds have you got to believe that you get all these things for free?

Trusting promises blindly is the shortest way to a credit card debt elimination scam. Send any debt elimination email messages to the spam folder and delete them. Try to keep up with the repayment, and get reliable financial consultancy from a reliable advisor. Be cautious, reasonable and moderate, and you’ll keep trouble away!

Why Are The Banks Unwilling To Offer Me A Mortgage?

Tuesday Feb 2, 2010

Many people are starting to ask why they are unable to obtain a mortgage; it is not just those who have an adverse credit history who are being affected. What are the reasons behind the financial institutions relutance to lend money?

Now I am not a mortgage adviser I actually help people by offering a stop stammering course and I also sell composite front doors as well as working on a project about training for foster carers

Going back to the previous question; well it is all down to the now infamous credit crunch. These lenders are finding it extremely hard to borrow money themselves or at least at a worthwhile interest rate. Despite the governments of the UK and USA slashing interest rates the market is showing no signs of picking up. It is as if there is some kind of stalemate taking place. Many of the mortgage lenders have been reluctant to pass on these interest rate reductions with the majority of them even increasing the interest rates on their fixed rate mortgages.

For the average man in the street this seems rather unfair. How often does a lender keep their rates unchanged when the Bank of England increases interest rates? Never is the answer, they are very efficient at increasing their rates. In my opinion there should be a rule which states that they have to pass the interest rate reductions on to their customers.

Governments around the world are trying to find a solution to this stalemate; they need to find a way to get the whole lending business moving again. For now people will just have to make do with that they can get, hardly an ideal situation, but that’s just the way it is.

I have read a report in my local newspaper where a prominent financial specialist predicted that house prices were likely to fall further. The credit crunch, the financial meltdown, the recession and overall lack of confidence is likely to mean that house prices will continue to remain low for the forseeable future. There is likely to be some more bad news to come but within a couple of years the housing market will start to boom as people start to be able to borrow money again.
